First, they were greeted and welcomed by our Managing Director Prof. Gábor Szabó. Then the Director of Science of the ELI European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ELI ERIC), Prof. Andrew Harrison, provided them with an overview of the consortium's operational background, while the Science Director of ELI ALPS, Prof. Katalin Varjú, gave a presentation on the infrastructure available and attosecond research activities conducted at our institute.
Then, Senior Communications Officer Alexandra Schmidli spoke about the PR activities of ELI, and Senior External Relations Officer Naďa Witzanyová, presented ELI ERIC’s strategy for new members and external relations. After the presentations, our guests participated in a laboratory tour, and during the closing session of the programme, they discussed scientific cooperation opportunities with partner countries.
In accordance with the Government’s research and technological development endeavours, the network of S&T attachés works to the benefit of the entire Hungarian scientific community. S&T attachés are currently delegated to the following 15 host cities: Beijing, Berlin, Brussels, London, Moscow, New Delhi, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Stuttgart, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Vienna. The key tasks of S&T attachés are to foster bilateral S&T relations, obtain information about the partner country's R&D and innovation policies, provide information about domestic RDI efforts, promote Hungarian research and innovation results, help the domestic economic exploitation of the partner country's technological results, support relationship building and the launch of cooperation projects between Hungarian and partner country RDI organizations.
